Shape, Painting and Markings

The outline is good. The painting and markings are excellent. The colour scheme is pale blue RLM 76 overall and mottled medium grey RLM 75 on the topsides. This scheme was used from spring of 1943 to the end of the war.

Special Mention

Detailed photo-etched aerials

This model has precision aerials which were made from photo-etched parts. But right side seems to be distorted mounting. Is this an allowable error?

Realistic mottling

The color scheme is RLM75 mottling over the overall RLM76. Corgi was expressed the realism mottling paint by re-coating the RLM75.

About Plane and Pilot

Messerschmitt Bf110

The Messerschmitt Bf110 served with success in the early rounds of the war. The aircraft's lack of agility in the air was exposed as its primary weakness during the Battle of Britain, when some Bf110 equipped units were withdrawn from the battle after very heavy losses and redeployed as night fighters, a role to which the aircraft was well suited. The Bf110 enjoyed a successful period following the defeat over Britain as an air superiority fighter and strike aircraft. Later in the war it was changed further to night fighter operations, and it became the major night fighter type of the Luftwaffe.

Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer

Wolfgang Schnaufer

Heinz-Wolfgang Schnaufer (16 February 1922 - 15 July 1950) is considered one of the top night fighter Luftwaffe aces of all time. All his 121 victories recorded in just 164 combat missions were scored at night and he was nicknamed "The Night Ghost of St. Trond". His victory total includes 114 RAF bombers; accounting for more RAF casualties than any other Luftwaffe ace and becoming the third highest Luftwaffe claimant against the Western Allied Air Forces.

Expectation

In finished models, the mottling paint of W.W.II German military aircraft is very difficult, but this model has successfully. I want to get another model same as these painted ones. Thanks, CORGI.
